On the campaign trail in the northwest over the weekend of 16-17 April 2016, President Danilo Medina forecast that the PLD would win overwhelmingly in the presidential, congressional and municipal elections in all the country’s provinces. He held that the PLD leads by 35 points in the leading polls. He said that while he turned down participating in the ANJE presidential debate on Monday, 18 April 2016, he said he could consider other discussions.
