The Attorney General has announced that a Dominican Jesus Pascual Cabrera Ruiz, an alleged drug trafficker, has been captured in Spain. An Interpol arrest warrant against him had been issued for drug trafficking and asset laundering.
Cabrera Ruiz was on the country’s most wanted list. Interpol arrested him in Spain in compliance with a red alert for international arrest issued by the Dominican Republic government. Proceedings are now underway for his deportation to the Dominican Republic to be tried in court.
The Specialized Prosecution Agency for Asset Laundering says that Cabrera Ruiz was involved in drug trafficking and asset laundering. An arrest warrant has also been issued for Cabrera’s wife, Claribel Amparo who is still on the run from the authorities.
