Civil society group Participacion Ciudadana is asking the Central Electoral Board (JCE) to produce a single document that lists, without omissions, each of the steps of the procedure for the vote count at all three levels.
The civil society group says that the new procedure for the vote count, identified as Resolution 71-2016, is the fourth official document that regulates the process to be followed for counting the votes.
“We are asking the high electoral body to reconsider, especially because both the manual process in which the members of the voting stations were trained, as well as Resolution No. 64-2016 (that establishes the procedure for the count and transmission of the results) omit the procedure established by the law,” states Participacion Ciudadana in their request.
