Traffic bottlenecks in Greater Santo Domingo cost the economy RD$48 million every day, according to a recent study by urban specialists for Decision Professional. The study, “How Much do Traffic Jams Cost Us?” used data from the Tax Agency (DGII) and the National Statistics Office (ONE). On average, approximately 320,000 vehicles use the roads every day in the National District and the Province of Santo Domingo, which make up the Greater Santo Domingo area.
