A woman who was wanted in the United States since 2007 and against whom several warrants had been issued, including for assaulting a police officer, has been arrested in the Dominican Republic, US media reports.
35-year old Katherine Mercedes Pimentel, a resident of Providence, Rhode Island, was wanted on several warrants, including mayhem, assault to maim, assault and battery with dangerous weapon, operating under the influence of liquor, assault and battery on a police officer, resisting arrest and disorderly conduct.
Pimentel was arrested in the Dominican Republic on Friday, 27 May 2016 and was sent back to Massachusetts.
