Cemex Dominicana, the large Mexican-owned cement manufacturer based in the southeastern province of San Pedro de Macoris has announced the signing of an agreement with EGE Haina to purchase wind-powered energy. The agreement will enable the cement manufacturer to replace more costly fuels for renewable energy at their plant.
The average 11.5 MW of clean energy contracted to EGE Haina will complement the 1.5 megawatts already generated by the solar-powered unit operating at Cemex.
Cemex president Carlos Emilio Gonzalez and EGE Haina general manager Marcelo Aicardi signed the agreement.
