AIRD signs energy savings deal with Fundacion Chile

The Association of Industries of the Dominican Republic and Fundacion Chile signed a cooperation agreement yesterday, Tuesday 31 May 2016 for an energy conservation program that aims to make savings equivalent to a power plant generating 600 megawatts. According to AIRD president Campos de Moya, they were motivated to make the agreement because the cost of power is a leading concern for industry in the Dominican Republic. The program is part of an initiative financed by the Inter-American Development Bank’s Multilateral Investment Fund (IDB-Fomin) that will benefit 20 large industries and dozens of small and medium-sized industries.
