The Metropolitan Transport Authority (AMET) has confirmed that a man was killed and three others were injured at around 3am on Thursday, 2 June 2016 when a vehicle skidded and plunged into the sea on the Malecon of Santo Domingo.
According to reports, the accident occurred on the stretch by the Doll House nightclub on the Malecon. National District firefighters were able to recover the unidentified man’s body. The father of one of the survivors told reporters that his son had returned from New York yesterday, Wednesday, 1 June 2016 and had gone on a night out with three friends.
