The government has spent RD$195.1 million on building the four schools in the province of Santiago that were inaugurated by President Danilo Medina yesterday, Wednesday 1 June 2016. These schools were designed to provide the Extended Day Program currently being introduced by the Ministry of Education.
The primary schools are in Boca de Licey, Punal and Las Palomas, and a secondary school in the area of La Alegria in Cienfuegos.
The keynote speaker was Minister of Education Carlos Amarante Baret who said that President Medina was committed to transforming the Dominican educational system.
