CEA land for JCE judge

The Executive Branch has submitted a contract to Congress for its approval that outlines the sale of 50.72 tareas of State Sugar Council (CEA) property to the president of the JCE?s Chamber of Disputes, Judge Salvador Ramos. The property is located in El Higuero near the new La Isabela/Joaquin Balaguer International Airport. The plot of land was sold for RD$6,500 per tarea (1 tarea = 629 sq. meters) with a total preferential price of RD$329,680, of which Judge Ramos made an initial payment of RD$115,500. The remainder is to be paid in 36 installments. This is below market prices. The contract was signed on 17 February, three months prior to the presidential election, reports Diario Libre.
