Playing in Group 2 of the World Volleyball Grand Prix, the Dominican Republic joined Puerto Rico, Poland and Bulgaria for the finals of the Group that will be will be played starting 18 June 2016 in Varna, Bulgaria. The preliminary matches were played in Olomouc, Czech Republic. The DR won all its games, minus its first match against Bulgaria.
The DR won five of the six games it played. The loss was the first match against to Bulgaria.

28 countries are playing in the FIVB Volleyball World Grand Prix. The preliminary round began on 3 June and the finals will be held in Bangkok, Thailand, through 10 July 2016.
