22-year old Yaritza Reyes has been crowned the new Miss World Dominican Republic. She already has experience in international pageants because in 2013 she represented the DR at the Miss Universe pageant in Moscow, where she was one of the top 10 finalists.
Miss World Dominican Republic 2016 took place at the Teatro La Fiesta of the Hotel Jaragua on Saturday, 18 June. Twenty-five contestants representing provinces around the country took part.
Reyes was born and raised in Sabana Perdida in Santo Domingo North, but represented Elias Pina, the province from where her grandmother and great-grandmother are from. She studies Communications at the UASD state University. She also works as a model, singer and actress.
