Aisha Syed performs in China

Violinist Aisha Syed has become only the second top Dominican performer after Juan Luis Guerra to give a solo performance in the People’s Republic of China. On 12 June 2016, she played in Zhuhai, Canton, accompanied by the Pacific International Youth Orchestra directed by Taiwanese conductor Thomas Chen. Juan Luis Guerra performed at the World Fair of Shanghai, six years ago.

According to reports, she was heartily applauded by the mostly young audience.

Syed has already performed with Maestro Chen in the United States. She played Concert No. 4 for Violin and Orchestra by Mozart and Vivaldi’s Four Seasons during the recital.

She was invited to China by Trois Culture and gave master classes to Chinese children and young people in Zhuhai as part of the cultural exchange.

Syed was the first female Latin American violinist to be admitted to the prestigious Yehudi Menuhin School.
