Minister of Tourism Francisco Javier Garcia highlighted that the tourism sector received 49% of foreign direct investment received in the country in 2015. Furthermore, he said there is no other destination in South America, Central America or the Caribbean that has benefited by such a large investment in public infrastructure as that carried out by the Dominican government.
Garcia spoke at the opening of the Caribbean Tourism Bourse (BTC) that took place last weekend in Santo Domingo.
