Major drug network dismantled in Spain

The Civil Guard in Spain has arrested ten Dominican and Spanish people in an operation to dismantle a drug trafficking network that used poor couples as “mules” to carry cocaine concealed in their bodies,

As reported, those arrested are seven men and three women between the ages of 25 and 51. The network operated by taking cocaine to the United Kingdom, Switzerland, France, Germany and Israel using mules to carry between 250 and 500 grams of cocaine each. Each person had made at least twenty journeys with drugs to London, Basle and Geneva in Switzerland, Nantes in France, Stuttgart in Germany and Tel Aviv.

They left from the Spanish airports of Madrid, Barcelona and Malaga in the south. The money from the drug sales was sent to the Dominican Republic in small quantities so as not to raise suspicion.

As well as the arrests, the agents also dismantled a laboratory and confiscated 1.3 kilos of cocaine, 3.5 kilos of substances prior to cutting, six vehicles and more than 20,000 Euros in cash.
