Agriculture Minister Amilcar Romero said that the northeast region was the most affected by recent weather conditions, such as Hurricane Jeanne, estimating farming losses of RD$1.5 billion. The hardest hit crops were plaintain, rice, corn, yuca, cacao, coffee and coconuts.
