The Support Coalition to the Free Trade Agreement with the United States and Central America praised the efforts of the Senate, political parties and the Catholic Church in favor of removing obstacles to the US congressional approval of the DR-CAFTA, as per a release from the American Chamber of Commerce. Salcedo province senator, Alejandro Santos that this Friday the Senate would review the presidential bill that would eliminate the 25% surcharge on corn syrup imports.
The Coalition said that once the tax is derogated, Congress should take the next step and pass the bill in the shortest time possible.
