Working together with private business

The Senate has announced the opening of a liaison unit with the business sector. David Toribio Lantigua will be the unit’s director. Representing the private sector are Manuel Garcia Arevalo, Ignacio Mendez and Carlos Fernandez, who will volunteer their time. Senate president Andres Bautista says that the office will help improve legislators’ knowledge of business matters. As reported in Diario Libre, he highlighted that the time has come to leave improvisation behind, because every government wants to erase what the previous government has done. “The three branches of government, together with the private sector, need to draw up a true development plan with goals and clear objectives in the medium and long term,” he said.
