Hoy newspaper reports that the fires in the Lilis Valley, the valley of Agua Fria, and La Cotorra are under control. These fires affected as many as 110,000 tareas or 7,000 hectares. The two Cougar helicopters can work effectively at the high altitudes of the Cordillera Central mountains. Currently, there are 500 members of the Armed Forces fighting the fires.
