50 years of the National Choir

Sixty National Symphony Orchestra musicians and 70 National Choir singers will take the stage of the National Theater Eduardo Brito Hall for a gala performance on Wednesday, 30 March. The performance marks the 50th anniversary of the National Choir. Mayra Peguero, director of the choir said that they will perform classics from Dominican and foreign composers. 77-year old Maestro Carlos Piantini, many years conductor and director of the National Symphony, and who has announced his retirement, will lead the choir and orchestra for the expected memorable evening. Piantini recently won the El Soberano, the most coveted of awards last night during the Casandra Awards ceremony.
