Miss Dominican Republic, 24-year old Sal García will be attending the Miss Universe pageant to represent the Dominican Republic. The money had to be raised from supporters online via GiveForward after the Dominican government said it could not fund her participation. The Miss Universe contest in the Philippines begins on 24 January 2017 and will be aired on Fox TV.
