Writer, essayist and journalist Federico Henríquez Gratereaux received the prestigious Annual Literature Award, sponsored by the Fundación Corripio and coordinated by the Ministry of Culture at the main Carlos Piantini Hall of the National Theater on 21 February 2017. The award comes with RD$1 million in cash prize money. Culture Minister Pedro Vergés gave the keynote speech of the evening.
