The summer heats up to the beat of contemporary jazz with Thursday jazz performances at Casa de Teatro in the Colonial zone. As reported in El Caribe, jazz groups from seven countries will be performing for the Sixth Casa de Teatro summer jazz festival. Center director Freddy Ginebra, announced that several other cultural activities will be held in parallel, such as commented films with Arturo Rodriguez, and workshops and meetings with the performers. Taking part in the festival this year are Biella Da Costa, Venezuela (2 June); Duo Trevor Watts, England (9 June); Henry Texier, France (16 June); Sistema Temperado, DR, (23 June); Original Dixieland Band, USA (30 June). Luis Nacht, Argentina (7 July); Ernan Lopez-Nussa, Cuba (14 July); Sandy Gabriel, DR, 21 July; and Felle Vega and Orquesta de las Danzas Mezcladas, DR, 28 July.
