District Attorney, Jose Manuel Hernandez Peguero has rejected a deal proposed by 59 police officials being investigated for the use of more than 100 stolen vehicles. The deal consisted of the withdrawal of the accusation and a change in the case’s classification. The DA warned that there was sufficient evidence to send the officials to trial and get them convicted. Hernandez Peguero had suggested that the officials accept offering 1,000 hours of social service, receive traveling impediments, agree to abstain from drinking excessive alcoholic beverages and live in the National District for one year. This proposal was rejected by the officials.
