Migration agreement signed with Spain

The governments of Spain and the Dominican Republic have signed an agreement to guarantee the working rights of immigrants from both nations and to expand the number of Dominicans who can legally travel to Spain on work permits. The agreement also deals with family reunification, as reported in Diario Libre. It was signed by Minister of Foreign Relations Hugo Tolentino Dipp and Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs and Migration of Spain, Enrique Fernandez-Miranda. The agreement will benefit an estimated 5,000 Dominicans who migrated to Spain before December 2000.
