Central Electoral Board (JCE) president Roberto Rosario is proposing the elimination of the electoral vote count bulletins, replacing them with a system whereby results are released to the media as they become available for each electoral table. The results would be published on the JCE web page so anyone can have access at the same time. He said this system is used in the USA, Venezuela and other countries. He believes the JCE has the technical capacity to guarantee this can happen and prevent the drama of electoral nights.
El Caribe reports that the deadline for the issue of ID cards/eligible voting cards is 20 December 2011.
The schedule for voting abroad was also announced. It will be 8am to 10pm in Europe and 7am to 8pm in the USA and Canada.
