Nagua and Salcedo get 911 Emergency Service

The Minister of the Presidency, Gustavo Montalvo, was in Nagua and Salcedo for the ceremonies marking the start of the 911 System 24/7 coverage in the Maria Trinidad Sánchez and Hermanas Mirabal provinces in the northeast. Coverage of the health, security and emergency service is now extended to 21 of the country’s 32 provinces and 101 municipalities, covering almost 9 million inhabitants, nearly 90% of the population. He said advances have been made for the expansion of the service to the provinces of Valverde in the northwest, Hato Mayor and El Seibo in the East, San José de Ocoa in the south, and the municipalities of Jarabacoa and Constanza in La Vega, in the central mountain area.
