New authorities at the Central Electoral Board (JCE) are investigating the use of government funding for overseas voting in New York, New Jersey and Washington, D.C. during the 2020 general elections. As the investigations continue, some five employees responsible for voting have already been suspended for 60 days. The JCE announced they will also be investigating the use of funds in the election in Milan, Italy. Those suspended are: Gilberto Regil Rafael Cruz Herasme, director of the Dominican vote abroad. Rafael Nicolás González Graciano, supervisor of voting in New York and New Jersey.
