DR again has a direct flight from Brazil

GOL Airlines flight G37730 arrived on Saturday, 13 November 2021, directly from São Paulo, Brazil to Punta Cana International Airport.

The flight was received with the traditional “water salute” by the firefighters. The flight inaugurated an itinerary of direct flights, three days per week — Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.

The arrival was welcomed to the rhythm of contagious merengue around 9pm on Saturday, 13 at the Punta Cana airport.

The reception was headed by the consul general of the DR in Rio de Janeiro, architect Kalil Michel, who on behalf of the ambassador in Brazil and the Dominican government, welcomed the travelers.

GOL is flying a Boing 737-800max with capacity for 189 passengers, in a non-stop crossing. The flight takes six hours.

Speaking during the arrival ceremony, Michel highlighted the efforts made by Ambassador Patricia Villegas, the director of the Office of Tourism Promotion (OPT) in Brazil, René Contreras, the consul of São Paulo John Hazim and the entire diplomatic and consular mission, to make real the direct flight.
