Show me anywhere I said there are no hookers in Punta Cana??? ANYWHERE?? I said they have set themselves apart from DR and became their own brand which they have. I said people in Texas, Arizona, Indiana, Minnesota, etc know about Punta Cana before they know about DR. How are you going to tell me about my own fellow countrymen???

Now I really need you to read everything carefully I write because I will never write this again:

I know you have some sort of superior complex being from England and all, and how your people once sailed the sea trying to turn the world into a "graveyard" killing everything in their sight. You will ALWAYS be a descendant from a land of people that preformed unthinkable acts on other human beings. I don't give a damn who you are right now in 2013 because I know the ROOT of you and your people. "Blood on the leaves blood on the root" You think you are one of the "good white people" just because you have an wife of color? I know how white men feel deep down inside about women of color I always did. You guys worship the ground they walk on.

I have NEVER called you a liar or mess up in the head like you tell me, YOU KNOW WHY because I do not have say any of those things because telling me you are a white man from England I mean calling you a liar and mess up would be OVERKILL.

Now you enjoy your day.

Oh jmb you said the darnest things....England "just" started ww1,ww2, ( had their lap dog,the u.s. to bail them out) and successfully engaged in world domination, heck they even patronized the piratas of the Caribbean. They spoil their women and now they come here to D.R. and take our women of color.

WHAT???....This are things that even I would not say..cuz they are simply untrue. Blacks are way down on the list for any kind of reparations or getting mileage out of victimhood for their suffering major..sorry They were (are) the most victimized group in america. I can go on, but you know it.

I don't disagree with what you are saying here. And I appreciate where you're coming from. But CC said "some" Blacks ... not an untrue statement. You just have to realize that not all of us are the same ... just like any other group. Some of us never really expected to get that reparation check ...... or the "40 acres and a mule"

;)

...AND we know plenty of lazy, shiftless, trifling white folk to realize that it's a human condition, not racial in nature. The ones who make it racial are usually pretty worthless dregs.

You know, kinda like the plantation owner complaining about how lazy his slaves are....

I AM, however, really curious as to how this fits in to a discussion on what's happening in Sosua.

"Hell YES I'm "Racist", "Sexist", "Homphobe","Clasist", "Nationalist", and any "Other"ist you can think of!!!
AND, so are you and every one else in the world!I will own it, most won't, and it's a matter of "Degree",Actions, and weather you are trying to do "BETTER"!
And, I am NOT, a "Hater"!
"POLLO", in this thread, I'll go with "Major's" opinions, not yours.
Too many white liberals, and apologists, think that anytime you find ANY Faults in US Blacks, or their community, you must be a "Racist"!
After all, it's not allowed under their "PC Mantra"!
They are the one's doing a disservice to Black Americans.
Their "Nanny Welfare State" has kept Blacks just where they want them for a long time.
And where is THAT?
"Behold'n To Their Massa"!
I'll feed you, cloth you, and give you "Chump Change", just keep voting for "US"!
It's not just a "Black Thing", it's just that being Black, makes you a visible minority.
It's a "Human Thing"!
Take care of me???
"OK", I'll go along with that!
Human Nature, NOT "Black Nature"!
Some one in another post stated that I could not possibly speak for any "Blacks" cause I ain't BLACK.
WRONG!
All you have to do is have an HONEST Conversation, with enough blacks and you will have some idea what it means to be "Black In America".
I have, I do, and I know!
Key word is "HONEST"!
Not a condecending, "Wow, Tiger woods sure can hit a golf ball!","Halley Berry is a great thespian",Jessie Jackson is a great roll model for inner-city Blacks"conversation.
A,"Why does "Jessie" get a pass on his "Hymie Town" remarks, and getting his girlfriend pregnant, while preaching about sexual responsibility???
How come too many young Black kids are having too many babies, and what do you think might reduce that number.
Why is it so hard for young, well educated, corporate working, young Black women to find a good Black man to marry?
Why do Blacks vote in overwhelming numbers for Democrats that are part of the "Black's Problems"not solutions.
If "Whites" stopped try to "HELP" Blacks, and started asking, and ACCEPTING more from them, you might be surprised at the outcome.
The liberals look at Blacks as some group that they must help.
That's wrong.
Look at Black's as a group that should, and Can, help themselves.
Black Churches do that, and it works.
"Hand Outs", NEVER work.
Expecting MORE of people does.
Now, if anyone thinks my post is "Racist" that's their opinion, but I feel differently.

JMB I have agreed with some things you said, but most I have not. You have done the one thing that irritates me the most. You have said that they are all bad. You believe that all Dominicans are just looking for a meal ticket and are just scamming away all day long. All the girls are looking for a gringo to hook up so they can get their visa and live on welfare or be taken care of by someone else for the rest of their life.

But I have Dominican relatives. So that offends me too. When you include everyone you are also talking about my family. In fact you are also talking about your own child who is still living here. Since your child is going to grow up in the DR do you think the outcome will be the same.

I'm not denying what happened to you nor your situation. And I'm not denying it happens a lot here. But that doesn't mean it is going to be true 100% of the time. You are already judging the people you've never met. You've encountered a lot of bad people here, I get that. I have encountered many myself. But I have also encountered good people here with a good heart.

Even in my own family there are bad people. We know who they are and we choose not to associate with them. But most really are hard working church-going people. Not the fake ones that rob and steal all week long and then ask for forgiveness on Sunday. The ones who bust their butt all day at work and then still find time to go to church after work every day before they go home to get what little sleep they can in a noise infested neighborhood. All so they can get up tomorrow and do it again. And they are happy to do it. As long as they have a house, food and good health they will be smiling. Maybe to others their life is simple and meaningless but to them it has all the meaning they need. They don't have time to sit around all day plotting the next big scam. Yeah, I already know some people are going to jump in and say I'm dreaming, that it is not possible to find a good, honest, hard-working, church-going Dominican. Those who really believe that are just ignorant.

But anyway this started as a thread about night life in Sosua and I don't see the problem with it. Geez, some people can't even be bothered to say no anymore. If you aren't interested in the prostitute you can really can just say no. She's not putting a gun to your head. The better bars in Sosua are the ones where the girls go because that's where the tourists go and that's good for business. If some would prefer there are enough quiet, nothing happening bars around Sosua where nobody will bother you. OK, maybe not nobody, but you'll have to say no much less. Or if it really bothers some people that much they can vacation in another town.

And the pedophile stuff is just ridiculous. I can't imagine any of us real men would tolerate that. We can agree or disagree on many things but that is one that I don't see too many people accepting or turning a blind eye too. I know that if I saw it I would be reporting it everywhere I could. Actually, after I started beating the guy's a** I'm sure the police would arrive soon enough to see what was going on. I don't think any of us on here, at least I hope not, have actually seen this and done nothing about it.

cjp2010 where did I anywhere in my posts mention anything about your family? You are not Dominican, but yet I am talking about your family. cjp2010 what do you think the people in Santo Domingo say about people in Sosua? The 1st time I traveled to Sosua every Dominican in the capital told me how bad Sosua was and not to go. Not one Dominican I talked to told me yeah Sosua is a great place and you live love it.

If your dating a woman in Santo Domingo and you tell her and her family you are going to Sosua for the weekend, what would they say about you? Nobody talks more negative about Sosua then Dominicansn all around DR.

cjp you can't be that"obtuse"( I got this word from the Shawk Shank Redemption movie LOL) to think just close your eyes and live your life and not try to influence change. Women selling their body is wrong on so many levels, you can't smoke weed in DR, but you can buy unlimited sex, does this make any sense to you.

I am an American, and my daughter here is a American as well as her mom, and yet I have been to numerous "Immigration Rallies" and march with Mexican, Bosnians, Polish, Salvadoran, Guatemaltecos, Dominicans( yes will have Dominicans in the CHI) etc. to fight so people are not deported while their children are American citizens. As an American citizen it is my duty to try and improve the lives of all Americans if possible.

I have attended many"Stop the Violence" rallies so children are able to feel safe in their own community. If you or you find any Dominican that have the "balls" to try and rid the Dominican Republic of the "sex industry" I will be the 1st one to join you marching through the Sosua and Boca Chica.

If one woman is suffering in DR they ALL will suffer and one point in time this is the though process needed when a massive change takes place.

Prostitution is a CANCER and it destroys everything in its path lives, hope, dreams etc Do you think God created women just to become sex objects?

jmb, you, and don't get me wrong you are definitely not the only one who has done it, have said things that encompass all Dominicans and by doing so that includes my family. I am American, but I am married to a Dominican woman and consider her family to be my family.

I lived in Santo Domingo Este for two years. Sosua is different and it is what it is. I enjoy it here and that's without hooking up with the prostitutes. I don't hang around El Batey all the time and even in Sosua was able to find a life for myself that was not all about prostitutes. I live in a Dominican neighborhood surrounded by working Dominicans and unfortunately many that can't work and depend on their children. Sure there are some bad people in the neighborhood too and we know who they are and we (not just I the gringo but many Dominicans) don't associate with them at all.

Those who don't like the prostitutes in Sosua can try to get rid of them and see if they will be successful or go somewhere else. But they don't bother me and without them, at least for the near future, my sister-in-law who works at a bar would have a lot less customers.

I don't share your opinion about the sex industry. It is a business and a very old one. And it is only growing on and off the streets. It's all over TV and Internet porn too. But you are entitled to your opinion and I'm not going to say it is wrong as it is what is right for you. If you want to fight that fight you can fight it.

Every military power, given the opportunity, has performed "unthinkable acts on other human beings". We're all drenched in blood.

You are right, but I think you can go further. I think every country (even those not considered military powers) has performed unthinkable acts on other human beings.

Hey!!! I lived in Santo Domingo Este also and that is where my daughter and her mother lives right now, not to far from La Sirena on San Isidro. You do not get many posters that will admit they lived in Santo Domingo Este, but I LOVE this part of the city way better then D.N.There is a house in Res. Amanda that I am madly in love with it is beautiful. My ex wife is from Los Mina and when I tell people this in DR they always give me that look like" why are you with someone from Los Mina"

Do you know this hotel in Sosua ran by a Canadian man with a Dominican girl, I don't remember the name of it but it was it was either green or yellow not to far from where all the bars were? The place was lets say not cool!!! and my wife at the time hated every second of Sosua, because if you are a woman from Santo Domingo Este Sosua is not on your list of places to visit.

BTW Trying to get rid of Prostitution in DR is only a dream way too much money to be made on the front and back end. I once went to Boca Chica on a Tuesday afternoon and the place was a "GHOST TOWN" and that is how Sosua would look if they started arresting hookers and their customers.

I know all Dominican women are not into these sort of activities like my ex wife I do not think there is enough money on the planet to make her become a hooker and preform sex acts for a couple of pesos.

The Dominican Republic has ordered all people that want to continue living in DR need a cedula, so the entire expat community started running around trying to get this done. Why would it be so hard to make a law stating "Prostitution is now illegal in Dominican Republic"

I am a fighter and you know this by my post, but I can't fight if I am not in the ring, somebody has to fight this fight otherwise NOBODY wins.

or if a peson want to have sex with a hooker in DR thats fine, but he will have to put 200USD into the educational system in DR. Every hooker a tourists or Dominican local rents they put 200USD into the children of DR.

IF you cut a tree down one day, plant seeds the next day.

Dominican Republic (and its Prostitution) has a bad name in Latin America, due to the fact that for most Latins, the only Dominicans they know work in their local whorehouse. Whether its Jaco, Cost Rica, or Buenos Aires, Argentina.

very true, Conchman. sadly, the Dominicans that migrate to Latin America are mostly women going there to work in cathouses. my buddy just got back from a trip to Suriname, Guyana, and Jamaica. he said that he ran into girls from the DR in all of them, working in the little houses at La Grange, as ZZ Top would say. one girl from Rio Burende actually recognized him!

You must be a Republican, trying to make laws to control other people, You have mentioned that you know all about whoredom in Panama, so what's the deal. It is for you, but not others?
Der Fish

Its a win win if you buy a car in the USA that uses a lot of gas the government will not say "you have to return that car" but they will charge you a "Gas Guzzler Tax"

I did not say gringos could not have sex, but charge them a "sex tax" so people say the USA tax too much, but the DR does not tax enough.

If some horny bastard come to DR for a week and have sex with three different hookers he has 600USD to pay the "sex tax" Some of these guys come to DR with 1000's of dollars and the country is not seeing a penny of this money. A 10USD card at the airport is all they are charge.

Like I said the its a win win the DR will start making more money of these guys or these guys will have to go else where to find some hot juicy loving, either way its a win win.

When I am in Panama City I stay in El Cangrejo is very hard not to know all these places because I walk past them all the time. Have you ever tried to drive through this neigborhood in rush hour?

For those that live in DR, prostitution is like having a car that can do 250mph. You are not going to often, if ever, do 250mph but is nice to know it is there just in case.

Yes cc i know you are right most of the time (sorry about my comment) but you know..dependance on social programs has more to do with lack of jobs and jobs that pay a living wage. i like the old days of tax and spend (ike) where taxes for the rich was 80% and investing on roads and jobs where not outsourced to our enemies (china) There were good jobs to be had.
Now..back to prostitution in sosua......I grew up in cuba in the 50's lots of whores every place, just like sosua (but much better looking) we had a barrio just for them, called colon, when we horny teens got the urge..we got "service" cuz none of the girls at school would put out NONE. Arrived in miami in 1960 went to school in miami beach, ida m fisher, the one on that picture porky was filmed, and it was just like in the picture basically white..cuz this were segregated times and lots of girls would "put out" with some of the good looking cubanos, but no legal prostitution like we had...hum..i said this gringos dont allow putas but is ok when we minors pork the minor girls like minks, some times i just dont get it
