Aventura in Puerto Plata, Dec 25th at 7PM?

Last year I paid 200 pesos to get in. There was a VIP section but we opted to sit by the ledge. It was GREAT!

Yes it was. The place was packed with cars and taxis everywhere. I will be there again this year.

I do really enjoytheir music though. I learned alot of spanish, and alot of dancing with their music. I like how they can combine the english and spanish too..I do think they are very talented.

I was looking through some websites to find information about the concert in Puerto Plata on the 25th. I checked to forum but no infos there - just some girls going crazy about them.

Ive seen them in Germany in May for 40? (it wasnt only them, there were two salsa pregroups) - went with some female friends of mine. It was fun, we danced through the whole concert and didnt really watch them play.

Its just a good coincidence they are giving a concert at the time when Im there. But I would prefer to see Frank Reyes, Joe Veras or Monchy and Alexandra. Ill keep my eyes open.

Hmm, in Germany Bachata is pretty popular, not only among the "lower levels". In an usual setup in a salsaclub they play 6 Salsas, 2 Bachatas and 1 Merengue. And there are for sure not many "chopos" at these Parties. And the dancefloors are crowded.

The music is nice - I like it as long as there arent many of the "tipico" instruments involved.

When was the last time you saw a german man or woman take home a domincian who was university graduate and lived in a decent neighborhood in DR, owned a car and held a nice job? I can say this about 95% of tourists from all over the world.
The truth is tourists (including germans) socialize with chopos in DR and thus take back home the chopo culture of this island. This is the reason bachata is so famous in italy, germany and the rest of the western world where folks are married to dominicans. Funny bachata is never played in classy places in santiago and in capital. Many dominicans don't even know how to dance well to bachata music in santiago. The dom yorks love bachata because the majority of them are from guettos in DR. The better class dominicans don't prefer to leave DR to live anywhere else. For this reson alone "krisspy" and other cheap chopo musicians ex: anthony santos, zakaria ferreras, luis vargas etc play full house in NYC and boston and charge as much as 100 dollars entrance. These same people can't even fill a 300 people club in santiago even if the tickets were given out for free. I don't mean a car wash or andy's ranch (typical chopos hang outs) I am talking about casinos, francifol cafe or tribecca etc. I was given free tickets to see villalona and the whole place was empty (even with free tickets). Krisspy plays carwashes everyday in DR. Aventura are famous at the moment but only among the chopos.

I also love Lito y Polaco, Daddy Yankee, Don Omar, Zion y Lenox, Tego Calderon...the list goes on..not just an Aventura fan...I love all of the music I hear down in the DR....Franky Reyes, Franco Devita, Luis Miguel, Zacarias Ferreira, Tony Vega....etc.etc.

So what kind of music is than played in the decent clubs? Salsa? Than Id love to come to Santiago one or two nights. Got my dancing partner with so you want have to be afraid Id go after your university chicks

I have nothing against Aventura but I can?t believe how they can be the number one in Israel top 40 with Obsession, the worst song ever.
There is nothing especial about that song.
