Just saw some photos (FB) of the damage to Secrets Cap Cana, pretty extensive.

My friend in the town of Samana tells me that the eye has passed, and the back side of the storm is starting to pass. The boats in the bay changed direction and the wind is starting to howl again.
Guess Fiona moved too fast and looks like the eye is very small, more likely less than 5 miles wide so thats is one of possible. Let me know the updates after the second band passes by.

This is from just a few minutes ago. He said he never saw winds this fast in Samaná and he has been there for 20 years.

They can't even get the power to work 24/7 in the capital, I dread to think how long it will be before they get it sorted out
Anything is related to power service in DR is irrelevant. Almost impossible to have a true 24/7 in DR, once for all.

The eye is in the water. Look at the dark purple band, that's the 2nd band and its very heavy and serve. It'll hit Rio San Juan/Nagua in few hours.

Pretty windy and wild in Cabrera now!! Can't see past my own property but so far I just have a lot of branches down everywhere.. nothing too bad... just a big mess (glad we canceled school tomorrow, as well as today). Think we are about to get the worst of it in the next hour or so as it passes by our point here in Cabrera.
