Hello All,

An American friend who speaks no Spanish needs a physician to monitor his diabetes. That specialty is endocrinology. Can anyone recommend a private clinic in Sto. Dom. for endocrinology where he'd have the best chances to find a bilingual physician? Needless to say, more important than the language question--there are work arounds for that--is competence in the field. Sure, I can find possibilities in a Google Map search, with reviews, but I'd prefer some direct response here, if possible.

In any public hospital he could find the same but I don't think he'll be able to handle the daylong wait, etc.

Thanks. Enjoy and stay safe.

This is a very good starting place. I have been to this building Torre MedicalNet in Piantini many times where I see a retinal specialist who has served me very well over the years. The website lists five endocrinologists on the team and they seem to have excellent credentials having studied in the D.R., Mexico, Spain, Venezuela, and the U.S., two of whom are president and vice-president, respectively, of various endocrinological professional societies. One has both Ph.D. and M.D. One walk into this building and you realize that this is where the best of the best hang their shingles.
