My understanding is quite deficient, yet I recall from my time in Asia that there are countless varieties of amoebas, and some are life-long, there being no antidote. If the OP has some better scoop, I hope he shares it.

Follow up w/ daily doses of psyllium husk - the critters stick to intestinal wall, in the crevices and often won't show up on a stool sample. They need to be scraped off the wall.
