In case you are interested, we had so many no shows last year and had to pay for the meals that were pre ordered, so that is why we ask you send your cheques or money orders for $25 per person to Gregg our Treasurer in advance.

Hey guys I just want to say that I had two great days of relaxation and good times with this wonderful group of people.

You did a fabulous job with the planning, the meet & greet, the food, music, the after hours party ;) and the breakfast this morning. Well at least no one had to cook the breakfast ;)

Thanks to Dot, captain2002, Fireguy, Hifiman, Hlywud all the beautiful ladies that did the cooking and baking and all the helpful people that helped out in the kitchen to make this all come together.


Special thanks to Roger (hifiman) and his lovely wife Darlene for opening their home and making us feel welcome at the meet and greet.

Thanks to all the people that came from near and far.

Looking forward to next year's fiesta.

I also had a great time. Thanks to everyone for making me feel at home among 64 strangers. I now have a new large group of friends who also love the DR. Look forward to a write-up on the blog - I'm a Survivor. Loved the parking lot party!!

Thanks for the ride from the prequel party AnnaC! You really are a wonderful lady, and both Rose and I loved chatting with you.

As for the actual fiesta - Incredible.

Started out at Rogers' place, where there was an ample supply of Presedentes. Although people say it tastes horrible outside the DR, I can attest it was liquid gold.

On to the actual fiesta. Great food, great conversations, great time. The speech for the grand door prize winner (Mr. itravel) went sonething like - "The one person who didn't win a door prize was mentioning that he thought he was the only one not to win a door prize...." Pretty much everyone walked away with a prize.... although the real winners of the entire event are the children! Hearing that the donations were almost DOUBLE last years tally truly warmed my heart.

The parking lot party was classic. We (almost) completely took over the hotel. I say "almost" to make up for the weird girl in the nightgown wandering around showing off her boobs. (Wasn't with the fiesta group) I really (kinda) wish she didn't fall asleep in the room DIRECTLY IN FRONT OF OUR GROUP with her drapes open... hahahaha

Sunday morning breakfast was nice. We took over a good quarter of the restraunt. Good choice of location, as the food was great, and the coffee was strong. Got to spend a bit more time with the group of people I will never forget.

Hi This is Dominikim. I founded a school in Batey Central...Miramar section 3 years ago. We serve 120 Haitian kids who cannot attend the public schools. Where is your project and what do you do?
