Another good one is The Walk. It is about the French wire walker that walked between the Twin Towers in 1974.

So, the Flying Wallendas....high wire specialists.

In PHL, a Wallenda was scheduled to walk across the stadium for the start of a game.... no net.

My pal, Big Al Meltzer, was one of the announcers for the game... he arrives early to study
normally , he's alone up their in the booth... preparing

Not this time... some other guy is sitting in the corner...
Alone, with a bottle of vodka.......

Big Al asks who the stranger is....
that's Wallenda.... the tight rope walker....

Wallenda is loading up on liquid courage...
Eventually, he fell -- to his death.... at a later date.

True story - fro Big Al himself.

Not me... no high wire acts....

Anybody seen or watching 'Outlander' ?

Healthy dose of sex, old Scotland, Jacobites... you name it.
Diana Gabaldon novels........

The Deviate might like it - except for the blatant sex

My 31 yr old daughter thinks it's too 'graphic' for me....... bring it on !!!

A lot is expected of a Bond movie....but it isn't getting anything like the ratings for Sicario, Bridge of Spies nor The Martian..... 93, 92, 93....but they were really very good movies.

Having an Open Forum heading covering Cinema entertainment in DR might be an idea. Clearly quite a few of the regular resident posters do frequent the cinemas around the country as a form of entertainment and often.

We are actually posting under Videos...supposedly videos highlighting life and entertainment in DR. Sub-section?

Recall, 'The Martian' screening was posted in Living.

I read all 8 books last winter/spring in DR, and watched the series when we came home - love it!

Check out Romanzo Criminal on Netflix, about a street gang's rise to power in Rome in the late 70s.. Ensemble cast based in part on a true story.

For Johnny Depp, I'd rather see BLOW again. He looks like Hunter S Thompson(again) in Black Mass..

Well I walked down to the local cine with g/f and saw Spectre this week. A two and a half hour movie and it held my attention throughout...good entertainment. I understand why the UK Telegraph film critic gave it top marks.

I guess the UK intelligence background to the Bond character does not appeal to all.

Rather topical at this time...global intelligence sharing. Those needle drills gave me the creeps!

Definitely worth 200RD. lol

Aston Martins yep........factory was on my doorstep when I was in the UK...hand built cars in Newport Pagnell but now moved.......nice little run around in Rome between an AM DB10 ( http://www.astonmartin.com/en/cars/db10 ) and a Ferrari.

Spectre at DR theatres now
