Thank you for photos (progress). I do have a question (trite as it may be). I have just noticed in ads re Nacional that they are advertising Brangus(?) beef. Do they Not sell Angus anymore? I ask as we are heading back to DR in a few weeks and planning our events and dinners. This is really curiosity on my part and the hope that Nacional not looking for cheaper brands of meat they are offing to customers. So if you happen to pass the meat counter.....
Thank you.

Starting to look like something. Right side appears to be Casa Cuest and left Nacional.

What exactly do they sell here? I thought it would be Nacional relocating.

Nacional will be right next to it. They're finishing up the building. Casa Cuesta sells home goods.

The kind of home decorations and stuff you find in rich Dominican homes.

Just got back from a quick visit. Lots of selection, very nice, good quality stuff and as mentioned before, higher price point than say Pola, Jumbo or Ikea. Here are a few pics. Next door, Nacional still has quite a ways to go. I would assume that now that Casa Cuesta is finished, they'll be pushing to finish it asap.

Would this place be like a minor league, higher priced Bed, Bath, and Beyond?

I went to the new Cuesta on Sunday, relatively early to avoid the crowds. It was more affordable than I expected with lower-priced options for most items as well as the pricey stuff. No curtains, though!

Was at Cuesta this afternoon. It was fabulous. Well designed. They had so much and it seems to be alot of good quality items. All types of cookware (though no Le Creuset- would not have expected) with known brands to me. Even the excellent Bialetti espresso maker. But it seemed to me they are carrying much good quality of so many products. It is definitely not knick knacks and much much finer than an Ikea. Yes similar to a Bed Bath and Beyond but I liked the design and flow. They were doing business. Wow that and Nacional? We who live right nearby are blessed in that way. 6-7 minutes away, no awful dangerous roads to cross. Yes indeedy.

Nacional supermarket is almost ready and they say they plan to open before the end of this month. Let's see if that actually happens.
