Thanks for your great posts - both my old phones are tri-band so I shall bring them with me on my next trip and get the Orange Sim Cards for them. I am so pleased!
I have an Orange phone here in the UK and it has a special Sim card that is for phoning abroad - I am only charged at 7p a minute (4 pesos) and send SMS messages for next to nothing.

will a SIM card I bought from Orange 2 summers ago for an unlokced ATT phone still work. i know i will need new Orange cards to use it but do I need to reactivate the SIM?

Hi,

This is our second trip to the DR. Loved the country, coming back for 2 weeks this time.

Would a Tri-band Blackberry Curve (8320) work on the networks in Puerto Plata?

Does anyone also know if the BLUE BAY VILLAS DORADAS has Wifi??

Yes Blue Bay has Wifi but in the lobby only. The range is not that great either so you will need to hang out in the waiting area. The good thing is that it is really nice.
