Cheap way to travel from santiago to jarabacoa

I want to see the waterfalls. What is a cheap way to get to jarabacoa from santiago?

The Caribetours bus charges RD70 from Santiago to La Vega and they leave every 30 minutes. I imagine Caribetours charges less to get from La Vega to Jarabacoa than RD70. You could try a local guagua and I expect it would be probably RD40 or so.

You can take the 5to Piso bus on the corner of Restauracion and Sabana Larga to La Vega. Same thing 70 pesos, a bus every 30 minutes. And then you ll need another guagua to take you up the hill to Jarabacoa.

I went to Jarabacoa this weekend. Take the express bus from santiago to La Vega. 30 minutes 70 pesos. Guagua from La Vega to Jarabacoa. 45 minutes. 75 pesos. Total time 1 1/2 to 2 hours. Total Cost 145 pesos

hi, my name is will i.m originally from the dominican republic, but moved to the us at an early age, i.m looking foward to purchasing a retirement home in the dr. someone suggested El Cortesito, i guess that is a town near punta cana, can anybody provide me with some detail information about this town , i'm basically looking for a good location near the bitches and resorts where is save to live. your help will be really appreciated
