If the airstrip I saw is the one they thinking of using, it's right beside the main street heading into the town, about 15-20m wide by I don't know how long but if they build an INTERNATIONAL airport on that spot... bueno... I can just imagine the headlines everytime a plane runs over a car or a worker...
It's those damned Dutch-Dominicans again!eli said:And that person is Andres Vanderhorst!!!
Flakko said:Excellent!!!
And by the way can I get Mr Vanderhort's phone number, cuz my family lives in Guachupita and they need an airport to move out of the country in their Bizz Jet, during those damn "Huelgas"...
They just opened an Int'l Airport in Santiago. It was suppose to help in the exportation of products from Cibao's Valley to the U.S. Then what's the point??? If they already have what they needed. Also, can't the perishable flowers resist the trip from Constanza to Santiago by road???
It doesn't surprise me...
I've seen worse things:
1) Aeropuerto Mar?a Montez - Flights per Day ??
2) Aeropuerto La Isabela - Open?
3) Aeropuerto de Saman? - Is it real?

THEY HAVE MORE THAN 4 AIRPORTS. WHAT ABOUT IF THE MONEY THAT IS GOING TO BE WASTED IN THAT AIRPORT IS GIVEN TO THE POOR PEOPLE DOES NOT THAT SOUND MUCH BETTER? SOME PLACE LIKE NEIBA, BARAHONA, DAJABON ETC WILL BE MUCH BETTER SINCE IT IS FARTHER AWAY FROM EXSITING AIRPORTS EVENTHOUGH IT MIGHT NOT SOUND GOOD TO THE US DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURE. NEXT THING WE KNOW WE HAVE PLANES LANDING AND TAKING OFF FROM PICO DUARTE
Um, I don't think we are a communist or socialist nation to start with and giving money straight out to the poor won't make them any better.WHAT ABOUT IF THE MONEY THAT IS GOING TO BE WASTED IN THAT AIRPORT IS GIVEN TO THE POOR PEOPLE DOES NOT THAT SOUND MUCH BETTER?
Barahona already has an airport and its pretty dead! I don't know what's wrong with the south. They have the most beautiful stretch of coastline in the Caribbean, the most spectacular contrast between desert and rainforests, mountains and plains, and some of the most hospitable and nicest people on earth and yet, tourism is not booming, at least not like elsewhere in the country. The airport there was suppose to start the boom, but not much action yet.SOME PLACE LIKE NEIBA, BARAHONA, DAJABON ETC WILL BE MUCH BETTER SINCE IT IS FARTHER AWAY FROM EXSITING AIRPORTS EVENTHOUGH IT MIGHT NOT SOUND GOOD TO THE US DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURE.
Now there is a business idea! Helicopter tours of the Cordillera Central and encricling the Pico Duarte and the Pico Pelona. That area is spectacular enough by land, imagine how much more spectacular it is by air!NEXT THING WE KNOW WE HAVE PLANES LANDING AND TAKING OFF FROM PICO DUARTE
We do have alot of airports.santobonao said:I agree with you, this country had so many airports.
hehehe, what a weird idea, putting an airport in a cold climate You crack me up. Do you really believe what you type?Nal0whs said:Not just that, but in December, January, and February (more so in Jan than any other months) the Constanza Valley experiences periodic freezes, with water actually freezing.
Imagine all the planes slipping around with all that black ice!
When was the last time you witness rock salt being used during those nights and morning when the temperature drops below freezing in those altitudes?Escott said:hehehe, what a weird idea, putting an airport in a cold climate You crack me up. Do you really believe what you type?
