Look at the damage that an Air Europa suffered when it landed at Las Américas International Airport. Part of the runway broke off and hit the airplane. The airplane is now stuck in Las Américas.
You are funny!Does the airport not have a maintenance team that does daily inspections? Definitely doesn't look good.
They repave the same way as they repave the streets....They repaved the runway less than a year ago. 😁
That would had been avoided if Las Américas had 2 runways. Las Américas is the main airport in the DR with scheduled flights (PC has the most flights, but most are charter or seasonal while in Las Américas most as scheduled yearround) still has one runway. Most of it is the one built by Trujillo in 1959 to boot.Fifteen flights affected either cancelled or diverted.

Who owns all that land on the east side of the airport? Plenty of room to put in another runway there. That would had been avoided if Las Américas had 2 runways.
