Nowhere near pressing what you do, but been using SuperPump (NO) for a little over a month now, together with SizeOn (Creatine) and had visible and most palpable results like never before.
In my 40's too, trying to follow Vince Gironda's and Charles Atlas' methods, little weight but with intensity.
I am NOT at all inclined to "help" with Steroids, but I would not be un-inclined to consider hormone replacement therapy someday.
I agree with Chip, that most "chicas" don't really go for the bulked up. Except some really crazy ones... and as I said, those are usually really into some crazy stuff themselves. I never was bulked, I never even was strong. I never did ANY sport besides horseback riding until well into my 30's. I've always been skinny... maybe even weak.
Doing the right routine, I can however maintain a acceptable body, I feel well in and can let a woman discover without fearing to disappoint.
Vince said that body building is 85% nutrition. I beg to differ, it's 85% knowledge. I have been lucky, but I've see so many screw up totally, so much they could never train again. I've seen those who blew up and then shrinked like dried prunes again as soon they went off what they've been on, those who look 10 years past my age and indeed are 10 years younger than me. I want no part of it. Successful body building obviously is not for the "dumb" stereotyped guy doing biceps curls swinging his whole upper body. It takes a LOT of reading, learning, observing and making smart choices.

J-D No worries about the bench...Vince and a lot of other old school bodybuilders believe that it is the muscle and mind connection that wil give you the quality muscle that your after. And I strongly believe that. I will go heavy every 3rd week but I don't focus on the weights I focus on the how many reps I can do in QUALITY and controlled manner (6-8 reps is considered heavy for me while 10-12 is medium and above 12 is a lighter workout for me.
However even when I hitting 12-15 reps or more, I make the weight feel like it is Heavy by ensuring that the full length of the muscle is being worked.
If you ever want to exchange information just PM me.
I also agree knowledge is the key....
As far as Hormone Replacement Therapy? Just get your T levels assessed by your doctor and he will tell you were your at on the range of low to normal. If you are on the low side ask him to prescribe you HRT. I know guys in their 60's at the gym who look very fit, have a sunny disposition on life and enjoying a regular active sex life because of HRT. Not everyone needs it but the ugly truth is a MEN we get older and with age our T levels decrease adding to all those nasty aging affects, like depression, male pattern baldness, gain of fat especially around the waist; lack of motivation and erectile dysfunction. And don't worry about getting huge and freaky if you ever do HRT, that boat has sailed for us 40 and overs.
Yes, I found that Superpump 250 has helped reduce my bodyfat. I hate CARDIO but do it regularly and SP250 seems to help my endurance. I take it in the morning before I train. I am on my second bottle now....been using since the beginning of DEC 09. I Other suppliments besides CREATINE that I can suggest is Vanadyle and DHEA. Both tried and tested true over time to be effective and not expensive at all. When I was competing in the 90's both suppliments were very popular and practical, especiallu for natural athletes.
Sounds like you love training, keep up the great work!!!
