None of these compare to the real life society dame here in Santiago whose nickname is "Cuca", her last name is Llenas and she married a guy
whose last name was Bello.

Just pronounce it the 'Dominican' way....

That's a fact, Jack..

HB

hahahahaha

Father of the second one needs to be shot postmortem or worse if still alive.. :dead:

...but of course education wise Papi probably thought (if anything) that Hitler only invented the "
Autobahn"...

Israel is one of the countries that does not require a visa from Dominicans but he would be sure to get very special treatment from the security staff upon arrival.

Hitler's two biggest ideas were the limited access highway, that became the Autobahns, and the cheap family car that everyone could afford.
They were simply more modern adaptations of American innovations: The Pennsylvania Turnpike and the Model T Ford.

According to what could be an urban myth, there were subscribers with the surname "Hitler" listed in the Jerusalem phone book.

Sounds like a clever way to have an unlisted number that can grab the attention of those you want to look it up.
"I'm listed as Hitler in the phone book".

We have on DR1 "Lucifer".

I would not think a parent would call their child either Lucifer or Satan. I would think!!!

everything is relative to culture. In India, the name Manmeet is popular. But if you and I were hanging out in a family style restaurant, and I introduced you to my baby boy and said loudly "Hey BX, come hold my little Manmeet", people would look at us funny. No doubt. We might even get kicked out.

Well, my real name, Jos? (I prefer Jose?to), is probably the most boring name of all. Jos? is sooooo weak and just plane dumb, but not as dumb as Juan and Ruperto. And my middle name is just ridiculous - so ridiculous I refuse to say it here.

I should've been named Carlos Armando Almonte or L?cifer Santana.

From my youth in the D.R., I remember Triburcio, Eustaquio, Rumaldo, Guasimodo, and folks with nicknames such as: Mirtha Culo Loco, Ni?o el Carnicero, Pancho Pata Fina, Pap? Culo Prieto.

Then there's C?sar Maravilla (Maravilla is a very colorful musician, and Higuey's original rasta, and a friend of mine. His father was one of my godparents. To?o Rosario mentions Maravilla in a few of his songs. I'm pretty sure Rubio-Higuey has seen him around).

I swore I've once met a woman with the name "Yanisary" or something. Why your parents would name you after Ottoman Slave Soldiers, I got no idea.
