Dominicans in Raleigh, NC

at my home we always celebrated w a turkey along w moro de guandules, potato salad (the pink dominican style kind), pasteles, pumpkin pie, flan and other stuff. kind of a mix of american/dominican.

we ate rice and beans and meat daily....w mangu as an afternoon snack as kids in nyc lol dont get too much more dominican than that.

for xmas we make a baked ham and pernil w all the traditional dominican sides and desserts...plus some american treats too.

If you guys go to Charlotte, NC my cousin has a "fonda" inside the Compare Supermarket Called Don Milo..........very tasty Dominican food.....go try it!!

Same here in Raleigh, the owner of the fonda is Javier a guy from Jarabacoa...... Very tasty Dominican food.
Chivo picante,Nondogo, Patitas de puerco and of course Sancocho is part of his menu.
