Cool, 5000+. How?

I created and manage (for now) a page for Dock - it has accumulated over 5400 fans. I figure since the DR1 Guide mentions Dock, Dock can reciprocate.

I also checked the group. There are some advantages to groups, and other advantages to pages. In this case I think a fan's page would be better, for instance, if you check the dock page, you will see that I have added "favorite pages", the other thing is that it will show up as a suggestion for friends, and you can get some stats out of it. Another thing which is nice is the customized url.

Unbelievably wonderful!

I've been browsing this new Guide and I confess I'm astounded at how great it is and I'm jealous of those that were involved in the creation of such a kool thing!!! :cheeky:

Kudos to Robert and the creative force behind this...it's one of the best things I've seen on the Internet, period! Congratulations. :bunny::bunny:

As I was leaving Jaragua Hotel/Casino this evening I noticed the DR1 Guide prominently displayed on the Welcome Center?s reception desk. I picked up a copy and very pleased with the information inside. You can make a hundred trips to SD and still find something of interest in the guide.

Great Job!

Found it in the DR1 Guide

Where do you go at 3:30 in the morning when you are hungry. I looked in the DR1 Guide and found Barra Payan restaurant. Barra Payan is just a few minutes drive north of Parque Independencia on 30 de Marzo and open 24 hours. I ordered the completo (ham, cheese, chicken or pork, lettuce and tomato) and a batida de pina. Total cost only 110 pesos for a great meal. Barra Payan is a great alternative to Pacos (Grands) or Monolos for late night eating.

I will return!

Great Resource

I was looking for restaurants and lounges in the Naco area. After a little practice I was able to locate 6 of each in the guide and using the print option print out the small maps showing them in relation to my hotel (thanks Googlemaps). One improvement would be adding the phone numbers to the print page. How can we as users help to promote and improve the DR1Guide? By adding reviews of restaurants? By promoting the guide in the places we visit? When possible I will mention that "I found you in The DR1Guide". Also if there was an easy way to know which hotels and restaurants advertise with DR1Guide(link to ad?) we could favor them and mention it whenever possible. Thanks for a great product.

Any suggestion helps us with the guide and I'm glad you found the guide of use! Yes, please write reviews of places you visit in our Directory or let us know if you visit an establishment we do not have listed.

Above all, as you mentioned, please let places know you found them in our guide, especially our advertisers. Using our coupons directly lets our advertisers know that their in investment with us brings results.

Thank you so much for helping us promote our guide. We put a lot of work into the product and it's an honor to know that our readers are finding it useful. Thanks!

Who knows? Spanish is not really our market and English is by far the most widely used language when it comes to tourism here.

Right now our plate is full with the 2nd edition and expanding to other parts of the DR.

feel ridiculous

OK, I know I am way behind the times here. I'm still learning how to use Facebook and don't have an opportunity to get on there very often, but I would like to. I'm a bit overwhelmed with it. I hope I can ask for a little direction here:

I found the link for dr1 guide on facebook, as well as the Dock page(and just love both of them I might add!). On both, I clicked "become a fan" and I was able to look through all the information. My problem is this.....when I sign back in to Facebook, how do I find these pages again? I clicked on "pages", "links" and various other things on my home page. Doesn't it get saved somewhere so I can click right back into it easily???

sorry for being so ignorant. I feel ridiculous!

On the very bottom left hand of your home or profile page in Facebook there is a small icon for groups. If you joined the dr1guide Facebook group you will see us when you click on the icon.

Now I see

Thank you!! I now see my groups. Sometimes ignorance is bliss, but sometimes it's a real pain in the ass......I could not figure that out for the life of me so I appreciate your help.

Is there still a cultural show on Plaza Espana on weekends? If there is, is it Fridays or Saturdays? Thank you!

I gotta say I picked up my copy of the second edition at the Hotel Santo Domingo when I was there two weeks ago and it was awesome. I love the DR1 Santo Domingo guide!
