Much speculation here. She was an employee, probably it wasn’t her who made the rules about buying or not of stolen jewelry. 

another good observation. something was not right there, and maybe she was a victim of the arrangements...maybe she was just following orders..

yes and yes but the part that is puzzling is/was this guy that stupid to go rob a place where the people working there know him? Sort of like robbing your neighborhood colmado where you shop at, don't make sense.

Who is this 'lawyer'?! Is spirit possession a legal defense to murder and robbery?! SMDH! Is there a remedy for ineffective assistance of counsel?! Only in the DR.

If this is the case then there would definitely be culpability on the part of the shop owner. Perhaps this is too complex for the Dominican legal system though.

exactly...if he importuned her to buy stolen property, maybe a case could be made that he is culpable in her death. maybe her family could go after him for civil remedies. however, i would not hold my breath on this one..
