Exchange Currency!!!

Where is the best place to exchange dollars for pesos? I hear that it is not wise to exchange in the airport, so is the Dominican bank, or ATM better? I am trying to find a good return on my Dollars.

Caribe Express, Western Union and most banks give decent rates. ATM's have fees now from 175 RD and up per transaction (except Scotia?) and your bank may have fees so that dilutes the rate. Worst rates are inside the airports, hotels and moneychangers at airports.

If your foreign bank has an arrangement in RD... might work well for you

If you're traveling in or through Santiago, Gabino's on Calle del Sol has the best rates in town from my experience. Usually 0.05 or 0.10 pesos more than WesternUnion (and WesternUnion is maybe 0.05 more than most banks).
