The Dominican Republic is the leader in medical tourism in the Caribbean. Medical tourism contributes more than US$1.32 billion to the Dominican economy, according to the Second Study of Health Tourism of the Dominican Republic presented by Dr. Alejandro Cambiaso, president of the Dominican Association of Health Tourism during the 6th International Congress of Health and Wellness Tourism Congress from 1 to 3 November 2023 at the JW Marriott in Santo Domingo.

Almost 4% of visitors to the Dominican Republic came with medical tourism as the focus of their stay. An estimated 338,747 international patients came here seeking medical and dental services in 2022. Cambiaso highlighted that 3.7% of the more than 8 million tourists who visited the Dominican Republic in 2022 did so in search of health and well-being services.

I like the "Medical Tourism, many come for health and well-being services" WTW lol. I guarantee at least 80% of the number in the article is butt and breast implants at bargain basement clinics. I worked with a young attorney here years back on some project. Later she had a breast reduction at one of these "clinics". Dead at 34 years old.

The best medical services here are found on the freedom boat full of US doctors that graces the harbours every now and then. They'll fix you up good. No one is coming here for Neuro or heart fixes to be clear.

So, he went to the wrong guy. Not a black mark on the DR. I had "major work" done and could't be happier.

I think, perhaps, that such a "naughty list" might be problematic in the DR. The laws about defamation are quite strong.

For a long time, DR 1 policy Ihas been that posting about such things requires that the poster self-identify with real name and data. The rule protects DR 1 from litigation, I believe.

I totally understand. However I would like to encourage if possible, that if a member is looking for info or recommendations, that another member sends a private message. The DR may have some good doctors, the problem is to find them.

Based on some of the hideous clown-like asses women have had done here, there are some major quacks doing plastic surgery.
You have to imagine the problems they will have later in life.
