Getting to STI from Sosua

On the rare occasions when I needed to get to the Santiago airport, I have taken Caribe Tours from Sosua to Santiago, and then a taxi from the bus station to get to STI. I thought that was really the only way. But on a recent bus ride from Sosua to Santo Domingo using the express bus that bypasses Santiago, I noticed that the bus stops at Caribe Express in Canabacoa to pick up and drop off packages. If I recall correctly, I think there might have also been someone getting off or on the bus. Canabacoa is just outside Santiago and only a 10 minute ride from the airport terminal. Is there a reason why I couldn't get to STI much quicker by simply taking the express bus to Canabacoa, and then summoning an Uber or taxi to take me to the airport?

You should try it and let us know.
The PA car passes by there. Hop
in and offer the driver 100 pesos
to drop you in front of the airport.
Depending on the time of day, he'll
probably take you up on it.

What is a PA car? I have no interest in being dropped off on the main road at the entrance to the airport. It's a long way from the main road to the terminal, and I don't want to walk it, particularly with a bag or if it's hot.

For under US$12 you can take the Metro 200 pesos/ US$4 from Sosua to the Santiago (2hr ride w/ free wifi) Station. Just before arriving, get a Uber to take you to the airport for US$8. When in the DR try to think the word KISS (Keep it simple St%$*)

note: Sosua Metro leaves - Santiago - Santo Dom
