I have a co-worker who keeps constantly talking about boca chica and how cheap things are and how there's girls all over the place who love americans and blah blah blah. So I decided to setup a trip to go to boca chica and have already made travel arrangements. :bandit:
I really dont know what to expect, and was wondering if anybody had any advice on where to go whilst there.
My coworker painted this crazy picture of the place where after you get to the hotel you go to a massage parlor to really unwind (I guess to get rid of the jetlag? I've never been to one before). Then after that you can buy like 50 cuban cigars for $20 and sit on the beach all day and have a good lobster dinner for like $5 and drink el presidente beers for only $1 each.
Also, I've been told not to waste my money by going to a resort and was recommended a place by the name of costa lunga?
I called the hotel place to make reservations and spoke to some guy but it sounds kinda iffy. The guy was just like 'okay what's your name and when are you going to be here? To which I replied with my name and the dates and he was just like 'okay on such and such date you will be here'. I think I should call back just to confirm the reservation.... :cross-eye
I've been told by other dominicans that parts of D.R. are very shady and to look out for 'bandidos' and that there are people waiting to scam you at the airport and such which leaves me kind of worried about going. Although I look more like a club bouncer than a person who is worried. :lick:
I found a site online where you can have a taxi waiting for you at the airport in santo domingo by reserving it online and paying via paypal. I'm debating as to whether to do this or just catch a cab at the airport. Anybody have suggestions?
